March on Wall Street Protest

Occupy Wall Street

History will note some U.S. publicly traded companies received government bail out money because they were “to big to fail.” While some U.S. taxpayer’s received a few hundred dollars at best as part of government stimulus money.

History will also note that Billionaire Warren Buffet, one of the richest men in America said “Last year my federal tax bill — the income tax I paid, as well as payroll taxes paid by me and on my behalf — was $6,938,744. That sounds like a lot of money. But what I paid was only 17.4 percent of my taxable income — and that’s actually a lower percentage than was paid by any of the other 20 people in our office. Their tax burdens ranged from 33 percent to 41 percent and averaged 36 percent.” According to the NY Times.

Warren Buffet went on to say, “If you make money with money, as some of my super-rich friends do, your percentage may be a bit lower than mine. But if you earn money from a job, your percentage will surely exceed mine — most likely by a lot.”

While there’s a tremendous need to equal the playing field for the so-called poor and the middle class, which is what the March on Wall Street seems to be about, there’s also a need to continue to work in the spirit of cooperation and innovation. As an example many of the people protesting have enough collective resources, knowledge, skills, education and abilities to create the next big product and/or service that fills a need in the marketplace. This can not be overstated.

Are you aware of any self-made millionaire that made their great fortune by protesting? This isn’t to mean there isn’t a need to demand fair and equitable  treatment under the tax code for both main street and wall street or that main street shouldn’t get the same government benefits as wall street, rather this should this should bring you closer to your ability to fill a need in the marketplace using the spirit of cooperation, innovation and mastermind groups. This may help you become a self-made millionaire.

Should there be the type of physical abuse by local law enforcement and the U.S. Military that reportedly happened in Egypt, Iraq and other parts of the world by their local law enforcement and military, it will be interesting to note if any foreign governments, NATO and the U.N. will come to the aid of American Citizens the same way the U.S. Government and Military, NATO and the U.N. went to the aid of other people in various countries in the name of democracy, freedom, free speech, self-determination and the prevention of a “police state.”

Perhaps if there was a greater emphasis on cooperation and innovation many would create new opportunities in a similar fashion that India. For details read about the $35 Tablet Story click here!
