When you want to get more out of your social media activity for your business work towards being social. Put yourself in your audiences shoes, do you really think they want to hear another sells pitch about how great your product/service is? Do you think they really want to hear about how you’re going to help them get more money? They’ve most likely heard it before.
Share practical information and over time people will come to know and respect you as the authority on a given subject. People will be willing to share your name and resources with others. This is how you properly use social media to market and promote your business ie be social in social media.

The groups that you get the most value from our the one’s with healthy discussions around the groups focus. In this way business owner/operators even marketing professionals will find it easier to include links to their blogs, websites, social communities, articles, books and audio, etc. Remember to keep it social when using social media.
Make it a point whenever you’re in a group to add tremendous value. A simple way of doing this is by asking relative questions and responding to other people’s questions. You’ll get more when you give more while using social media.
You’ll have a tendency to post your links especially when on Facebook Groups and Pages, but resist doing this without contributing to the community. Over time you’ll find you’ll get more value when you add more value. While most people may not comment many people do watch your movement in a group and often follow you from various social networks to another. Always add a great deal of value. It may be of benefit in the short run and will be of incredible benefit in the long run.

There is etiquette in every aspect of human interaction both in business and social situations.
Using ALL CAPS is like SCREAMING at someone when corresponding online and via email and is taken in offense especially when coupled with intense and possibly passionate conversation. Some people are unaware of this. However, now that you know that using ALL CAPS is like SCREAMING at someone you get to make the decision as to if you will continue using them or not when corresponding online.
The message we are sharing and the message that is being received is often two different things. We should all be mindful of this when communicating both online and off.
It has been my experience that factual information stands on its’ own merit and is very difficult to argue. However, the facts should be presented at that -as facts. In the event that you have two fantastic arguments or points of view wisdom teaches us to agree to disagree and keep it moving. To foster continued conversation on any parties side is often unproductive and a decoy at minimum -it is wise to remember why you came to any particular social media community. Remember to add tremendous value, help other get what they want and connect on a real level.

How do you increase your follower count on Twitter and friends on Facebook using social media karma?

- Tactic Three is to cross-promote between your Facebook, Twitter and email accounts.
- Tactic Two is to constantly promote other people, their business and cause. It will all come back to you, but not necessarily from the people that you helped. Isn’t that something?

When sharing on social media, people often ask may they pick my brain on personal development, motivation, social media for business and/or self-publishing. What rarely crosses their mind is that social media is a tool for me to brand, market and promote my professional services. Once they seek personalized information “picking my brain” which sounds very painful they’ve crossed the line into professional coaching and consulting services for which there’s a fee.
Professionals may have a different approach or system, but generally this is how it works for people who use the internet to brand, market, promote and/or otherwise publicize their products/services.
- Free info via my websites, blogs, videos, audios and articles online.
- Money is earned when people click on Google Ads on various sites and blogs.
- Money is earned when people download one or more of the products that was developed or one that is being promoted by the affiliate marketer.
- Money is earned through coaching and consulting. Advice is normally free when people find it online or they may be directed to a specific site or blog. When people want personalized info that’s when they pay consulting/coaching.
